Epic Games explained on Wednesday that it had purchased Loci, an AI platform that specializes in tagging 3D assets. This will assist creators in automating the tedious task of tagging with aid in determining possible intellectual property (IP) infringements.
Loci’s features include automatically tagging 3D models making search and access to such content more simplified. The new integration will be useful to many creators since they often have to handle a lot of assets which can be very time consuming.
Not only will Loci’s technology help in solving problems arising from manual tagging, but it will also facilitate the detection of possible infringements. Another issue that Fortnite has faced is many users importing well-known IPs like Mario Kart and Shrek into the game.
This new AI is going to be added in the whole Epic ecosystem, even in Unreal Editor for Fortnite (UEFN) and Fab’s digital assets marketplace.
